That was it

That was it. The crowd seemed to finally stop roaring. All of them were following the walk of one man. Their expressions were eager and unforgiving. The huge man with a mask over his head finally made his way towards me. He didn‘t seem to mind the silent attention. He seemed to savor it and enjoy all of the expectation in their eyes. This was his moment to shine. His black cloak fluttered in the wind. Weirdly in those few seconds, I managed to notice every small detail of his appearance. He wore leather boots up to his knees, behind his cloak he was dressed in a simple dark workers attire- shirt and fabric trousers. He also had black leather gloves and on one of his fingers, he had a small golden ring.

Finally, his huge legs stood behind me with a thump and a drop of sweat made its way on one of my temples. I slowly lowered my head touching a cold sharp stone with my neck. The rope painfully stretched on my bloody wrists, but I almost could not feel it. I looked up to see the sun that was shining high up in the sky. There were a few clouds but generally, the sky was as blue as the sea. One lonely bird seemed to be diving towards me. There was one more thing up in the sky- a huge machete was being held high in the air. It caught the glimpse of the sun and was illuminated by it. I could also see the reflexions of the crowd in it. I noticed one old woman who seemed worried when everyone else were simply excited. The machete started diving down to me just like that bird and I could see it clouding the sky. It cut my skin, my meat and my bones. I heard myself trying to scream, but then there was nothing. That was it.

As a kid, I loved to read fantasy novels. I still do now. I tried to study in a university... twice. Both times I quit before even reaching the second semester. Then I decided it's not for me and started searching for other ways to fill in my life and this blog is one of the consequences as well as starting to write my fantasy novel!
